As someone who has long loved F. Scott Fitzgerald’s writing, despite his depressing and often problematic deal, this Gatsby retelling vis-à-vis a Vietnamese Jordan Baker is exquisite. Absolutely true to the spirit of the original, while absolutely its own fantastical, queer, eerie, spectacular thing.
